A 3m 1.5f handicap hurdle. 14 runners.The favourite is Velator.Its form is 600091.It is favourite on the strength of a win at Taunton last week (big wow!) on similar ground to today’s.It’s gone up in the weights but has a 3lb claimer in the saddle as it had last time.There’s others in the field that have better and more consistent form (not difficult).It is trading at 2.9.At these odds,it must have oodles of laying value.Get it layed!!

Won by a neck - drat!But easily traded for a profit.

It was RPR top rated and joint TS rated, so for those reasons I wouldn't have laid it.

Apart from its last race,it had been running like a donkey and didn't deserve its ratings IMHO.I layed it at 2.6 early in running.At those odds it was well worth laying especially as the race distance was > 3 miles.It blundered 2 out,was headed before the last and the odds shot up to > 5 and it could have been traded for a nice profit. Unfortunately,it rallied and won but only by a neck.
