The TV channels keep wheeling out the bookies (who sponsor them).

Peddling their poisonous offerings. There have been over the years all sorts of characters. Matt Doyle - who was ATR's tipster. Loads of pretty girls (the Stan James one was particularly eye catching). An there have been some (in my opinion) odious chaps too. A couple spring to mind, but in this age on non free speech on 'tinternet I am afraid to name names.

Then theres the bookies adverts. The Betfair ones make me cringe (the middle man ones). William Hill's football ones are shocking, and make me not ever want to bet again. Bet 365 have even managed to make a Hollywood B list actor look pathetic (Ray Winstone). Then we have the latest Ladbrokes offerings with the crazy Italian man. I have to admit some of them are quite funny for the first 3 or 4 times you see them The latest one with the worlds worst racing pundit just makes me angry. VC looks so smug I could punch him. "I'll have a tenner on the favourite Victor" - Well when I ask for £100 on the fav he tells me to fuck off unless I want £20 on at SP. Go figure, perhaps I won too much off him. Bookie my arse.

There is some positive though. Rory Jiwani. This is the fellow from Stan James which the infectious smile and big personality. I don't care what he has to say, but he delivers mundane drivel with such style and enthusiasm he makes me smile too. I really like him. Think he would make a great SS presenter.
I think the racing is poor today - too much time on my hands :D

Whoever produced/edited the latest Ladbrokes ones did a shocking job - you have McCrick shouting for the italian to go away and then pulls him closer.

The best ones always seem to be the Paddy Power ones, I loved their Cheltenham one:

As for today's racing it is dire! Mainly small little fields with two horses at the front of the market and then a huge gap.

I have the patience of a monk usually but the ladbrokes one really really annoys me. I shout at the tv every time. Now I have the remote next to my mouse so I can mute it the second it comes on which is bad for ATR because now I don't even listen to any of their adverts.

I have actually written to Ladbrokes to tell them they should pull it, as it is even more annoying than the Optimax advert. It's driving me completely mad. I've turned the sound off completely so I don't have to hear it.

The first time I saw the Ladbrooks offering I thought the guy was having a heart attack, and it was an infomation commercial... It should be pulled on those grounds alone a grown middle aged man who looks like he has had a skin full yelling bollocks at whoever. It gives out a great message... especially with cardiac arrest in the headlines.. its not funny its offensive.

I actually find the McCririck ads quite funny, although they'd probably begin to grate a bit if I'd heard them 100 times!
