this is the 2nd day running when i'm finding the markets very slow, especially in the few mins before the off when normally there's far more price action.
feels like some of the bigger players are on holiday.
on days like this i miss the bomber!
what's happened to the pre-race markets this week?

i suspect you're right marc,
precious little real money around and it just becomes a battle between traders and slows to a crawl as nothing happens to get things going.

Maybe it's just due to the fact that maybe people's betting money is a little bit more spread between the afternoon and now the evening races? I've always found they thin out a little bit per race when we add the evening stuff too. I've been going well recently and was a bit worried about the shift (first evening races proper last week) but I don't feel it has made an enormous difference, but enough of a noticable one for sure.
Plus don't forget that punters don't like betting on many of these races where there is so little form to go on.

I think it's a reflection of the quality of the cards.
Small fields, uncompetitive racing, changing / bad ground
All in all pretty uninspiring stuff. It has been excellent since the GN meeting, until last weekend. Lots of big fields and competitive. The Punchestown festival added to this as well.
Guineas meeting at weekend the Chester next week. Hopefully it will liven up.

strange one really. I actually found tuesday really good. Yesterday awful. Its strange though that some days are randomly great and some days awful. I don't necessarily think its a direct link to the quality of the cards either. SOme great cards I find trade awfully and I've had some awful cards trade amazing.

I found it the complete opposite, yesterday was the best day I have had for a while but Tuesday was a waste of time.jimrobo wrote:strange one really. I actually found tuesday really good. Yesterday awful.
Good job we all find different days suit or else we would all be going after the same pot.
