Hello!
This method sounds interesting. I have a simple question to you experienced traders.
Does it really work? Yes or no? Not asking for the secret recipe but simply if it works in the long run.

Any tip/info would be welcome, of course!
I am now thinking of purchasing some historical data from Betfair in play odds and see if I can figure something out.

Have a look at Scott's blog here http://www.sportismadeforbetting.com/p/ ... ategy.html

That may point you in the right direction. It's a case of profiling the race and laying at odds that have a chance of getting matched.

Statistics are you friend here. rather than buying Betfair data you would be better off buying a subscription for Proform. They are without doubt the leaders in this sort of data.

Try profiling tracks. i.e Lingfield "the longest final furlong in racing". meaning lots of short prices in running get turned over.

There is no easy way here. It's lots of time consuming work & trial and error. What you will find is there is no "one size fits all" strategy. You really have to be selective.

Marc,
Proform is THE form book now. The in running module is a licence to print money if you have the skill to drill down into the stats.

On the face of it it may appear expensive. But you can pay for a months subscription with 1 race.

The main problem with it is it is so powerful it can be overwhelming. So you need to start slow and add more to your strategy as you go along.

Mugs, thank you for the answer. Really helpful.

I will definitely dig deeper into Proform and see if I can figure something out with the statistics. Is it your website? What do you think of Fracsoft? Which one is better?

On the first sight, I'd say races with clear favourite and =< 5 runners are to be avoided, right? Do you think short tracks or long tracks are better?

No I have nothing to do with proform.

The thing with Uk tracks is they are all unique. Steep gradients, undulations, tight turns, long turns, straight, etc etc

That's why the opportunities exist.
I have used Fracsoft, it's good for football.
proform have all the Betfair historical prices as well. Lowest. highest sp

1 BA does make monthly profits for individuals

2 There is no secret recipe

3 Each individual trader is the secret recipe

4 It is a long winding journey to the profit house
