Quiet start to the festival today.

Not really any better than a normal day for me. Maybe the olympics is taking a bit of attention away.

On the flip side, if the olympics is lowering liquidity a bit (though I didn't think it did on saturday) then I guess without Goodwood it could be terrible!

Just speculation of course, hopefully it will pick up

I thought the goodwood markets were quite nice. Didn't feel as manipulated, however, I consistently gave some back at beverley!

I don't really like the set up today with these long gaps inbetween races.

Me neither. I don't see the point of them adding an extra 5 minute gap to make it 20 minutes when they know that there are only 2 cards on anyway

Goodwood markets on Betfair have really lost their shape this week.

Feels like some unmatched orders that are normally there aren't there at the moment.

I just read your blog Peter where you posted volume averages for Goodwood, Ascot and Cheltenham. Would make an interesting post to show the averages for the other festivals like Aintree, Doncaster etc ;)

Yesterday turned out to be a bit of a pain for me with some of those rediculous lays on several runners one after the other, thought it was pretty peculiar tbh, even wondered if the bomber was responsible. What anyone else think?

Bit of a shame really as i took a few days off this week from work to make the most of goodwood volume, turns out i made more from the other races...

I have done this in the past so probably have some data somewhere, I'll take a look.

I've always had mixed results from Goodwood, so it's not surprising to see it again this year. I don't think today is particulary well set up TBH.
