Maybe a stupid question, but why only 4 pounds and 47 pounds matched either side of 2.50 with so much money showing at other prices?

Rule 4 adjustment left impossible prices as matched.

Say you back something with £10 at 4.00 and a horse worth 7% of the market is withdrawn. Then the new odds will be 4.00 less 7%. The odds you were matched at will now show as 3.72, which of course is an 'impossible' price.

I saw this move earlier, I noticed it was a single bet from the volume indicator on the chart, so I backed immediately as I felt the price would correct, which it did.
I'm quite new to trading (4 months), it just felt like it was the right thing to do.

Did I get lucky or was that the right move?

this person has been around a few times today putting huge back and lays either side, he may have got in trouble in this race as he was trying to get out with a huge lay near the off kept driving the price up

I think it was a smart trade. Small volume spikes can indicators of a reversal in trend but massive ones tend to revert to mean.

Call me a cynic but i dont believe for one moment its a punter, same sort of thing was happening on frankel at one point and in all the lingfield ones inbetween, if i was to hazard a guess its a very large trader playing with the the market inbetween the york races as they know people will be overstaking... obviously i could be wrong but dobt it.
