I know this could be a stupid question, but is there something on the net that predicts starting prices on betfair, or do you just look at ladbrokes and add on 10 ticks.

You mean the betfair SP? If so then not to my knowledge, it all depends on what is happening on betfair

There is a formula that shows how it is worked out - used to be on the betfair Q & A section of website. Not knowing how much money is in the potential pool - due to the volume of wagers that are assigned the 'Place wager at SP' clause, makes calculation difficult though. As for comparing betfair SP with bookmaker SP, the bookmaker over round will screw with any forecasting.
