multiple spreadsheets problem

Hi,
I have been running auto trading via excel for over a year now. As I have guardian set to load each race 8 mins before a race start, I have a problem when races overlap, which I have overcome by removing any such races. I have tried using multiple spreadsheets so that some races go to auto1 and others to auto2.
My problem is that I was under the impression that each race would load up from the guardian 8 mins before start and the next race would not load until 8 mins before its start. This does not seem to be the case.. it seems to ignore the 8 min load guardian after the initial load. For clarity.. Races 1,3,5 to auto1 and races 2,4,6 to auto2.
Race 1 loads 8 mins before start, but then race 3 & 5 are also cycled through the auto 1 sheet, and the same with races 2,4 & 6 going to auto2.
I was hoping that race 1 would load and that Races 3 & 5 would be loaded and accessed when they had reached 8 mins before their respective start time.
Am I doing something wrong???
As I have a lot of VB code that clears and resets stuff on a race load.. this does not now work as VBLS are being cleared as it cycles through the next race and so on.
I feel it MUST be a setting I have missed or something.. can anyone help
