Why do you guys think BBC and other british media keep lying about our 5 stars movement? (it's an italian political movement led by peppe grillo)
25% of Italians, including myself, is recognized in the movement. We have a policy agenda for the next 30 years to improve the way of life in Italy and we have some very interesting points in our program which can be discussed on our forum and it is accessible to all. There are millions of users which subscribed to the site and there will be an increase of subscription by 100% within the next 2 years! Our leaders also met some British journalists and explained why the movement was born and what are our intentions once we have rappresentatives in the parlament, but your media continue to write that our vote is only a protest vote and nothing more and minimizes all the hard work that we had to deal in the last two months! 18 months ago we were 3%, in September of 2012 we were 13% and between late January and last Friday, after we held 77 major events in 77 citys and 100s of tousends of smaller events, to inform the population about our movement we have managed to take a massive 25%, but BBc and others, still define us just a vote of protest!
I think even if our points are not shared by the British journalists, call us just a vote of potrest is offensive and hides some doubt on the integrity' of the comments!
BBC - M5S?
I think you've misunderstood the term 'protest vote'.
A protest vote is cast for a smaller party by someone when normally they would vote for a mainstream party.
It does not include your vote as you are already a member of the aforementioned smaller party.
For example, in the UK many people may normally vote conservative, but they may register a 'protest vote' by voting for a smaller party such as UK Independence Party.

After all the hard work I was upset reading that we were just a vote of protest!! Thanks for the clarification, I feel better now! I have not slept for 3 weeks in order to work and in the free time to provide informations to all about the movement!MyOldGran wrote:I think you've misunderstood the term 'protest vote'.

Funnily enough, I detected BBC bias when I read this article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21573155giulio2010 wrote:Why do you guys think BBC and other british media keep lying about our 5 stars movement? (it's an italian political movement led by peppe grillo)
The BBC is massively pro-EU (it has even received money from the EU). Grillo wants to say 'vaffanculo' to the EU's demands for austerity. So you can see why the BBC aren't massive fans of his...

I am confident that once in the parlament the majority of italian people will follow us!! It's not true we want say vaffanculo to europe, we just like to ask all italians what they think about it and would like to rediscuss our position in europe!! i think the same thing is happening in England with the next referendum
I think that most people in the UK are unclear about what 5 Stars want to do and what ideas they have. In the last couple of days there has been a lot of press coverage about what they don't want to do and what they don't like (Austerity), but little else. This isn't saying that 5 Stars don't have any policies, but if they do, those aren't getting much coverage in the press.giulio2010 wrote:Why do you guys think BBC and other british media keep lying about our 5 stars movement? Isn't this like the Green Party and UKIP in the UK? They both started out with a long list of what they don't like/want, but lacked any real and practical ideas about how to change things. Both the Green's and UKIP seemed to make mainstream progress once they started discussing practical and positive policies.

The funny thing is that the M5S leader has gave more interviews to CNN and BBC the any other italian channels!Actually he did not give a single interview during the election campaign to the italian press. The M5S managed to get 8 million consensus using the citys squares and the web!EyePeaSea wrote:I think that most people in the UK are unclear about what 5 Stars want to do and what ideas they have
This is our programm. It is a general programm but, it can be found in more detalis in our website. It also include other points which are not mention, like economic, fight against the mafia, school etc etc.
Each points are then discussed on the web and improved by professional e ordinary citizens:
1. Citizen's income
2. Immediate measures for the revival of small and medium enterprises
3. anti-corruption law ( for 20 years no-1 have had a proposol for an anticorruption law and that's why we still have berlusconi! Do you guys think italians are that idiots to vote him? He just buys millions of votes but I have to becareful to mention how so use your immagination!
4. Computerization and simplification of the State
5. Elimination of public funding of political parties
6. Establishment of a "politometro" to check the illicit enrichment of politicians in the past 20 years
7. Referendum proposals and without quorum
8. Referendum on staying in the euro
9. Obligation discussion of any law of popular initiative with an open vote in Parliament
10. One public television network, ad-free, independent of the parties
11. Direct election of legislators in the House and Senate (with replacement preferences Ed)
12. Maximum of two elected offices
13. Law on Conflict of Interest ( again, we would not have berlusconi if the opposition which has been the leading political party for 10 years would have proposed a law on conflict of interest! So use your immagination again why they did not do it!
14. Restoration of funds cut for Health and Public School
15. Abolition of direct and indirect funding to newspapers
16. Free access to the network for citizenship
17. Abolition of the IMU on the first house
18. Not pignorabilità first home ( if you had a debt with the bank, they can't take your house)
19. Elimination of the provinces
20. Abolition of Equitalia ( Equitalia is like a tax agency) M5S have found out that there are a lot ambigues equitalia behaviour which led to the suicide of many italians which apparently had a debt with the state but found out later it was a mistake! They behave almost like the mafia with estortion acts and some other dodgy behaviour!
Immediately after the election the M5S 160 elected gave up a salary of 15,000 euro net per month, reducing to 2500 € net per month. By doing this they recovered 20 millions euros. The M5S also gave up the 100 million euros of public funds after the election. The total of 120M only for this year will be giving to medium and small business to go out from their financial crisis from the elected pocket! It will be all monitored on the web to be sure that the money won't go in the wrong hands!

Hi mate, please take no offense, but have you forgotten the 20 hours of work a week?
Imho he's just riding the wave, taking votes from the people who are tired of politicians. Italy deserves better.
Any step towards a participative democracy has my fully support, but he just doesn't look serious.
But off course I agree on most of the proposals in principle.

I think we have a good concept of new political wind! Luckily we are 8 million at the moment and this number rised in only 18 months!
If we could achieve everything he said we would be in the position of god! Every single point is discussed and moved forwards only if is possible to achieve it...
The 20 hours may be a really difficult one if not impossible but, we must never rule a such good opportunity of discussion out!
Many things he mentioned are just provocations and the media use just to discredit him and make him look like a clown! In Italy is actually very easy .. The tv and the press are all pro parties and financed by the old political parties!
I saw him, face to face, he was crying when he saw the square full of people but the media that same day put a picture of him with crazy eyes. They made him look like a psico. On that same day the national television put a picture of him in his van with a fake picture of benito mussoline behing his back, attached to the van wall!
I have attached the picture, it's a fake and put in the national television!!
