Et Maintenant is no spring chicken, he's 11 now and as he's aged he seems to prefer a longer trip. This horse caught my eye a couple of times but it was the run at Ayr in January 2013 when he ran well for a long time but then couldn't go with the leaders. He jumped well in the main but I watched a video of the race and reading between the lines it did seem as if he was not running at his optimum trip. He ran off a mark of 110 that day which is pretty much the correct mark at this stage of his career.
He then ran at Carlisle Feb '13 off 110 and jumped well but was outpaced again. This was over 2m5f which IMHO is short of his optimum trip.
He has now dropped to 107, he runs over 3m1f on the correct ground and his rider again takes off a handy 7lb. This is a competitive handicap so please don't go lumping on!
At around 14/1 you could play this horse in running. In fact because he tends to be held up he may drift in running and offer a bigger price. Do not expect to see him bowling along up front unless they're crawling. This horse is likely to come with a late steady run and you should get a decent chance to trade out at a lower price.
Good luck, small stakes and enjoy!

On this one I have 50 ticks offset on Categorical..If anytime in play the horse hit 2,32 I will be in profit.
I have just placed a small amount on Et maintenant.
Between 10-7 it's even ( No loss)
Between 5-3 nice profit ( green)
Between 2,2 to 1,5 big profit ( green)
thanks for the tip Jolly..

I think this horse needs a break from the handicapper having watched that race. He went to 9.6 in running but that is not as low as I had hoped. The favourite only went 2.54 (Sorry Giulio) and never travelled in the race.
I also don't think the ground was as soft as advertised. Never mind, it was a big price so you don't need to get many correct to make a profit.
BTW that is the ONLY time this horse has unseated/faller but he would not have won had he stood up.

I made a loss on this one as I had expected a better run. The main thing is my opening bet was on at large prices so my stake was relatively small. I could've greened up at one stage for about £50 but when he dropped back my chance had gone!
