As someone who is new to trading at this time of year but with a good few months previous under my belt. Can I ask was todays racing a particularly difficult one to trade? I found it increasingly difficult to predict with any confidence which way anything was going to move...I'm not this crap normally honest.
Any thoughts / opinions will be greatly appreciated

I found today tough and ended the afternoon with a small loss for the first time for a long while, in fact I don't remember me previous losing day. The markets do get tougher in the Winter I find so I don't expect as much from the next 3 to 4 months as I would from say the previous 3 to 4 months. I also don't like it when one meeting starts later and therefore finishes later than the other two. I had hoped Cork had gone ahead today but unfortunately it didn't. Even though I had a small loss on the day I am not to fussed as there are still plenty more days in the week and month and year!
Thanks for the replys fella's
Not that I would wish ill will on anyone but it has helped me understand my progress a bit better hearing that I was not the only one who struggled yesterday. I have really felt as though I have made significant progress with my trading recently, but after yesterday was beginning to think that this may have not been the case.
I guess at the end of the day one good thing is that its a reminder that this trading lark is far from cracked from my point of view and there is much more to do and learn....the good thing is I'm looking forward to it.

Traditionally the markets are always very weak at this time of the year and it doesn't really get better for some time. But that said, yesterday was particularly bad. I had quite a few messages coming through asking how I was doing. A fairly solid indicator that people are finding it a bit rough.
From November thru February each year I tend to perform at around half the level I can in the summer. March picks up, but only really due to the Cheltenham festival, April has Aintree and then May sees the start of the flat turf season and the evening racing and things get going again. For people starting out or on the low end of the learning curve its probably less noticeable, but for people trying to push things a little it feels very tough. Especially if you are not used to it. The first couple of years I was on the horses the winter period caught me out and it was a bit depressing to slog through the cards. Over time I have learnt that it is poorer at this time of year and to focus on new strategies, new markets and not to get too depressed about it. You can have some really good days, it's just they are much fewer and spread apart.
