Does anyone use the sportsbook?

If so, how do you find the prices compare with those of the High St bookmakers, once you take commission into account?

Thanks

I believe that there is no commission or premium charge on Sportsbook bets. The downside (gleaned from various posts in another forum, not personal experience) is that the odds offered are among the worst.

Thanks Wyndon

It sounds like Betfair are targeting their sportsbook at people who don't realise that they can get better odds on the exchange itself, taking into account commission (or can't be bothered checking).

It would be interesting to know what the turnover of Betfair's sportsbook is. Does anyone know?

Hi Jeff, why are you so interested in the SB?

I've had my online accounts with all of the major bookmakers closed (not wishing to boast! ), and was toying with the idea of using Betfair as a bookmaker.

Presumably Betfair will be no different from other bookmakers and will close or restrict winning accounts. Anyone experienced this yet?

Yep betfair are the only bookies I have been restricted with and I have all the UK ones. This was due to the superb arbs they dished out every race, literally printing money. This has dried up now but you can still find out of line odds now and again...

Hi Jeff, if you are looking for some way to offset your bets should bf have a crash, shouldn't you look somewhere else? ;)
