Quick question on the transaction counter. I note it resets itself 'on the hour' in Bet Angel, does it do the same at Betfair?

Eg. If I place 900 bets at 14:55, when the counter resets at 15:00 can I place another 900 bets at 15:05 because the counter on BetAngel has reset to zero, or do I need to wait the full hour because Betfair works from the actual time the bets were placed?

Cheers

Bob
Its in any 60 min period from the time the first bet is placed (although if you look in the T&C's its not very clear)
I often go over (slightly) and dont incur any charges

Thx, I'll just spread the bets out over time, it's not a huge problem.

Cheers.

I've never been charged and used to place 999 at the 59 minute mark and 999 at the 01 minute mark after the hour.

I understood (but I may be wrong) the 1000 rule related to a GMT hour.

I've been charged some times, but really low fees so I think there isn't much to be afraid of?

Gazuty is correct, the transaction counter starts at the beginning of each hour, not when you started trading

While we are on the subject, just what are the fees like anyway? Are we talking a few $$$$/££££ or more substantial?

My understanding (which may be incorrect) 1c per bet for each bet over 1000. There is then also an adjustment for commission and implied commission.

So, I used to think, well at worst I blow $9.99.

I'm doing some automation which fires 12 bets every 6 seconds in the last 4 minutes.

I just saw this red Tx count. Is it ok for me to carry on placing more bets or should I reduce the bet count?

Look in your account statement. You will pay 1 c per bet over 1000 minus commission and implied commission.

Thanks Gazuty.

Wasn't charged yesterday (luckily), but I've reduced the number of bets fired by half. Will see how it pans out.

I have just had the same red counter but I was in practice mode testing a new set of rules that I initially got a tad wrong! Resulted in it placing many bets each guardian cycle for a few minutes before I stopped out.

I assume I have nothing to worry about as I was in practice mode, but could anyone confirm that for me...

Cheers

You'll be fine in Practice Mode. It's just highlighting that you would have exceeded the count if you had been betting Live, but in this case betfair know nothing about your practice transactions.
