Hey folks, I'm planning to bet on Chelsea as the Premier League winner in 2013-2014 season. Outright betting odds are @ 3.60.

Rumours have it that the owners will be splashing out big money to bid for the title next season. Jose Mourinho is the favourites to replace Rafa Benitez. The players I've heard to be Blues' target are Wayne Rooney, Marco van Ginkel from Vitesse...and Frank Lampard of course still play great football. I'll tune in for the latest and update this thread. There are surely going to be lots of changes but I hope the special one can make Chelsea win for me.

What's your pick for next season? Am I betting on the right team? Please share the odds you're gonna pick :D

Pinnacle are always close to having the best odds for football. You can get a proper bet on too.

Really? I just checked their website but they're not offering EPL outright odds yet? On bet365, the odds offered are 9/4 (3.25) while sbobet has it at 3.60.

Are you also betting on outright odds? What's your pick? :D Thanks!

The next season will see the biggest change in EPL history. New managers at the 3 top teams, 2 we don't officially know yet. You're betting by guessing, it's not what I do. The 3 teams with new managers take 94% of the book. They all have issues to overcome. If you basing your analysis on what you are reading in the papers about who the manager will be and what the transfer targets are you might as well play Fantasy football manager.

I have no clue what will happen, but let me throw in a few thoughts.

1) You think Chelsea have a 27% chance of winning the league
2) They do not have a manager
3) You're assumptions about transfer targets are pure speculation. Rooney to Chelsea? Behave yourself. I'd be more worried about them having a back 4. Luiz is not a center half, (if he stays), Terry is now injury prone and frankly past his best. Cahill is average. Wasn't Falcao to Chelsea a done deal too? He signed for Monaco yesterday (bizarre).
I could go on and on. One of the 3 will no doubt win it, but which one I don't know. There are better ways to make money out of betting on the EPL outright market. I'll be sharing them nearer the start of the season. Good luck if you get involved :)

Alright! I'd like to tune in to your predictions/analysis and learn from you soon. :D

-David Moyes for Man U
-Pellegrini for Man City
-Loudest rumour so far is Mourinho for Chelsea

You're absolutely right, a great uncertainty lies ahead of these top 3 teams, it could be any of them and this will be an exciting season for EPL. Odds aren't far from each other so more or less bookies are seeing the same thing. Soon, we'll know who goes where. OK, no placing of bets for now. I'll wait for your advise. Thanks, thanks!

Okay, Jose Mourinho indeed returned to Chelsea. So at least now they have a manager who can try to figure things out for the team. The setting, however, may not be the same as his previous stint. They may still have the financial muscle but City and United also have it. Wenger's got a good transfer kitty, too. Spurs and Liverpool have audacious managers...we'll see how they'll fare. The odds currently being offered for these top teams are pretty close. The defending champions United is currently priced at 3.00 in Bet365 and Betvictor while it's 3.20 at SBOBET but it's still dancing with the transfer rumours going on right now. I'll stand by and wait for these transfers to settle down.

Ok, just a little update on these top 3 teams. They're all priced at 3s right now. Betvictor priced them the same at 9/4; Bet365 still has Man U at 2/1 and the other two at 9/4, while SBOBET puts Chelsea on top at the same price as Red Devils in bet365. The competition is surely going to be tough among these 3 team; Mourinho seems very motivated at Chelsea. David Moyes is bringing is own backroom staff at Man U and Manuel Pellegrini did promise that Man City will play very good football under his leadership. Can't wait for the season to kick off!
