Is there anyway you can trade without having Bet Angel to run continuously? I mean if I set a stop loss it only works when Bet Angel is online.

Yes, the stop loss is managed locally, so if you close BA, your stop loss will be lost.

So that means people who actually trade a lot are online 24/7?

A lot of people run Bet Angel on a VPS http://www.betangel.com/vps/, so they can dip in and out of it at any point in the day (or night) and leave it runing on the server while they do something else.

If would be great though if Guardian automatically loaded the races for the day via a tick box
