Hey guys, I haven't traded for a few months now but I am thinking of trading on some football games. However I used to trade on Betfair and I am thinking of switching to Betdaq because of the lower commission.
I am wondering though because the liquidity isn't as good, if I am going to have trouble getting my bets matched fairly quickly in play?.
Betdaq vs Betfair for Football trading.

I think it simply depends on what your betting approach is as to whether you get matched or not. I am a pre market trader of football and I would estimate that for every £100 on football on Betfair I could only make about £5 on Betdaq sadly. I am hoping things get better assuming Ladbrokes finally get round to building Betdaq up. If someone is say a profitable value picker then this could easily be done on Betdaq but there just isn't enough money around to trade football pre market and make enough money. There sometimes looks like there is a lot of money on Betdaq but most of it is 'dummy' money and it tends to follow Betfair's price (not surprisingly I suppose). I have waited at the front of queues for ages without getting matched which is frustrating but hopefully things will improve more. They have improved a fair bit in the last year but not to the extent that I understand the horse racing markets have advanced. I think time will help as more people hit the £250k barrier but I believe it is tricky re liquidity to trade.
Yeah I just signed up for Betdaq and had a look at Exeter v Q.P.R yesterday. I completely agree with the point you made. Considering Ladbrokes brought them up a few years ago, the liquidity is completely shocking.
I'll defiantly be sticking with Betfair. I am interested in the fact that you trade football pre market as well. If you would care to elaborate a bit on this strategy I would be very grateful.
I understand it's the case that if a key player is left out or injured in the warm up lets say, that the price on that team will drift?

The number of games and leagues they cover is quite bad as well. I believe they should concentrate on developing their football markets considerably if they really want to be taken serious. I would imagine this is the area that most of bf revenue comes from. If they only cover certain markets you just give up looking I personally found.
