Betfair customers using that product have had their accounts seriously compromised in some way for at least 5 out of the past 6 months without Betfair detecting them. As such, we regret to have to communicate that we currently have zero confidence in Betfair currently being able to maintain a secure and safe environment for its customers when using certified 3rd party API products, and that to date we feel both Betfair and the software provider are seriously failing to act in customers’ interests when these issues are brought to their attention.

I did not recieve this e-mail from Betfair but from a vendor I have tryed sometime ago.PeterLe wrote:Was that in an email sent to you by betfair?
I have recieved the e-mail today. Here below the full e-mail. If BA feel the e-mail should not be posted, please feel free to cancel it and please eccept my apoligy in advance.
I am still wondering ofc who else was effected!
Thanks Gents
I just did a google on one of the paragraphs, I know who the vendor is now. I never used them, so OK on that front.
It does serve as reminder though. i probably have more in my betfair accounts that I do in my short term current account.
I tend to change my betfair password ever time I get prompted to change my work single sign on password, it just reminds me to do it
Regards
Peter

To be completely honest and fair, if you have any concerns you should contact [email protected] as only they have the full facts and can give you an authoritative and impartial answer. They don't have any incentive to try and encourage use of one piece of software over another, they get paid regardless. So I would encourage anybody with concerns to speak to Betfair.
Since two step authentication came in that's answered most concerns I have about Betfair security as my Betfair account is now more secure than my bank!!! That's why we implemented as soon as it was available back in June.
