if you agree of course!...

Have additional versions of some in-play markets that do not have a delay?

it's my view that the delay is not much protection and that I'd rather have the choice of betting/trading in non-delayed in-play markets, accepting the risk that the market won't be suspended when something happens.

imagine being able to trade the period after a goal without delay... it would be fascinating and provide loads more opportunities.

It would be an interesting experiment and definitive proof of whether people are happy with the risks or not.

In a crowd of 75,000 at Old Trafford, you'd have 47,000 people on their laptops. If a goal was scored at a corner you wouldn't even hear a cheer as everyone would be looking at screens :)

Seriously though, it's a good idea

In such markets only fools would leave large amounts outside of, but close to, the money and they would quickly become efficient. They'd be only scraps for the laptop boys.

I just think it would be great for trading the periods after goals, and also when free kicks/pens are awarded, sendings off etc.

Re racing I can only think that the delay is for some sort of regulatory reason because it helps no one as far as I can see.

Thanks to all that vote.

To be honest, I'm not sure why there's a suspension anyway. They never suspend cricket when a wicket goes, or tennis when a player appears injured.

i agree. they don't suspend financial exchange markets before scheduled economic news - the dynamic changes and the action all occurs after the news without any delay to orders.

I just wanted to drag up Frank's thread again

I'm trading HT on various England markets, but the 8 second delay is just ridiculous.

Why is there a delay on markets during a HT break?

Surely, if BF turn markets 'in play' when the game kicks off, and suspend the second there's a goal, then they can close and re-open markets at HT!

Why not have managed and unmanaged markets and let the customers decide?

As far As I concern the market suspension has not given a single benefit in my trading whatsofever, actually it has caused moments of uncomfortable panic situations.
I d like to see the market completely unmanaged, if so I would more likely to increase my stakes. Often betfair lost feed of the game and suspended the market, those times I have faced substantial losses and only couple times I made bigger gainings.
Also if a game is suspended there should be a better soultion rather then wait 2 days as your money are froze with the suspension of the game and can't be used for other events!
