I have just received a phone call from someone claiming to be from google telling me my email account had been hacked and that they need me to log into a website so that they could resolve the issue! Like heck I did, but the worrying thing is that they quoted me a password for the email account which was wrong but is (not for much longer) the password for my betfair account, so guys and gals bee careful.

I'm getting about one call a week at the moment from somebody in India trying to trick me into something. I think there was a thread on here about the microsoft scam.

It scares me how persistent they can be and more so how many people fall for it

That's very worrying when they have a correct password for another account - you better check you don't have a nasty piece of software lurking on your computer

Just to back up Peter though, I seem to have periods of receiving calls from Indians, claiming they are from Windows or Microsoft and I have a problem with my computer. They even introduce themselves with English names - tell me......has anyone ever met an Indian whose name is Frank?

So many people still fall for these telephone scams.

We still have in BKK the boiler rooms after all these years still going strong. These days i hear they are also selling property on the otherside of the world to people who have never seen it and people buy it as they believe for example Brazil is going to be great because of the world cup.

Running a full AV scan and then a Full AM scan then another AV scan using a second AV software, and have changed all passwords for betfair, banking etc right pain in the whatsit but better than losing boatloads of cash
