Fuckin hell with these overoptimistic bastards backing odds-on fav heavily. Had very big red on it pre-off.
Sorry for the foul language fellas, just had to get it off my chest.

Did that big first order come just after you entered your lay? 70k matched
I had my lay orders waiting at 1.15, 1.14, 1.13, 1.12. I mis-timed one or two scalps but the rest were just blown away with the gigantic back orders.
I mean how can people back something so madly?
It really brings out the worst behavior in me. I never realized I was so foul and hot tempered until I came across such situation. Really changes a person for the worse.
BWT, it lost the race.

i often find these extreme odds on horses appear to drift (slightly) then come in real quick about 2 1/2 minutes before the offical off - i dont care how good a horse is - how weak the opposition is etc such prices are madness and the value as to be in laying

Just a suggestion, play with it as you wish.
On such low odds, if you are offering to lay with no opinion on the outcome. Possibly, instead of offering lays at 1.15,1.14,1.13,1.12,1.1. Why not for example lay at 1.15 for 10, 1.13 for 20,1.1 for 50.
Just an example but if the initial move goes against you, you can scratch and at least be straight back in and you can also put in back positions to trap them.

not worth playing for small stakes/pennies at these odds. I used a grand at minimum (at each price) to make any decent return at these odds, and also when you're competing with players using 10k multiples moving the market.
I try and manage my risk one (or manybe 2) scalp at a time.
Sometimes I scalp aggressively to recover, but never double/tripple up, that's a risky downward spiral.

I think you missed my point. 1.15 for 1000, 1.13 for 2000, 1.1 for 5000. The numbers of the example you can change and play with as you wish. It allows you to scratch even though its gone against you and also get back in on the back side as well as putting an order above.
Just trying to suggest something to play with. It wasn't something set in stone, just trying to give ideas for everyone as to entering their money in the markets as a lot of people probably just put one trade in the horse race markets and then an opposing trade.

i tend to stay away from those odds on shots in horse racing,
i just cant get them right, its a completely different trade.

I cannot see it drifting as only a fall would prevent it from winning. I could see this going 1.08 - 1.09 if the punters get stuck in!
