If for some reason you were approached by ladbrokes or betfair to help improve their exchanges. What would you suggest?

as long as the PC exists there is no fix for betfairs exchange product full stop. I don't even think it would change the sentiment towards them from their main customers even if they dropped it tomorrow The damage has already been done. As far as Ladbrokes go then I think all they need to do is concentrate on the core systems, expand the api. Get at least on par technologically with betfair and then advertise and let the word spread. Betfair got huge because of the goodwill between the exchange and the customers. The customers advertised massively through word of mouth. The same will happen with ladbrokes if the exchange grows and they keep the same message going across they started with.

I find, as I mentioned in another thread the amount of football markets on ladbrokes exchange disappointing. I thought they would be expanding it. I think to get their customers using the exchange they should expand more for these markets because Im guessing this would be the area to make people interested in the exchanges.

I agree with jimrobo.

I think it's interesting. Betfair have really put the squeeze on the business but by and large appear to be getting away with it. But I think it's risky as the underlying proposition can be replicated quite easily. When Betfair started they locked into this virtuous cycle, but if broken I bet you it will fail just as quickly.

To be honest Peter, you know the inner workings of BF better than anyone else on this forum

What fascinates/concerns me about PC, is whether BF are considerably more financially unstable than they would like us to know, and therefore need to keep it in place. Or, are they just so arrogant/naive that they believe that nobody will be able to penetrate their status as market leader within the exchanges?

I would like to be able to see my profit/loss and various account info in a graph format. Maybe also a way of improving my trading by comparing it to the thousands of other traders betfair deal with. You never know it could then highlight quite easily ways to improve.

You can show your profit and loss using excel very easily. The latter will never happen due to privacy/security e.t.c
