Reaches perihelion today, so before long we will know if it has survived its 845,000mph brush with the sun and will truly be 'comet of the century'.

Keep tabs on it here: -

Thanks for reminding us about that..My elder son mentioned it to me yesterday.

There was a comet a few months ago which we managed to track in the sky, can't remember the name just now, (we used binoculars - not ideal, but not visible without. Unfortunately, my young son could keep the binoculars steady enough!) :D

It's a shame more people aren't interested in this stuff, as it gets little TV coverage.

It appears we'd rather watch an Italian dancer with a lisp, trying to eat a Kangeroo's cock whilst shouting "Bella Bella Bella"

Maybe it's playing hide and seek just now, or look on the bright side one less threat to earth :D

It's looking like it was playing hide and seek, but quite what has survived is another question.

it's travelling at over half a million miles per hour and is going to pass us by so close we will be able to see its tail. This may be the only comet to come this close for over a hundred years. This sort of thing doesn't happen often so we should try and see it if we get the chance!

Cheers for the explanations. Think I will keep warm inside and watch it on the news ;)

Is the bright light the Betdaq exchange burning up to nothing and fading back into the dark once again :)
