We are pleased to inform you that we are going to be reducing the betting delay in select games for this weekend’s English Premier League Football.
We have been testing a new radio feed which allows us to get very close to “live” thus allowing us to offer more protection to our customers in-play. As a result we will be looking to reduce the betting delay from 8 seconds to 5 seconds in select matches this weekend. We are currently restricted in which matches we have this radio feed for but we hope to open this up to more matches/leagues over time.
Below are the matches we will be offering this on for the coming weekend. This may change subject to the feed but it is our intention to offer this in all of the below matches;
08/02/2014 12:15 Yeovil v Leeds Championship
08/02/2014 12:45 Liverpool v Arsenal Barclays Premier League
08/02/2014 17:30 Swansea v Cardiff Barclays Premier League
09/02/2014 13:30 Tottenham v Everton Barclays Premier League
09/02/2014 16:00 Man Utd v Fulham Barclays Premier League
We will also be reducing the delay to 1 second at Half Time.

They must be sending 5 or their best trained trading chimps to them games, thus not needing that much of an advantage as usual

I just like to add, that keeping the delay during half-time, especially when it's a high profile match, or on TV is just ridiculous
I'd like to see BF add a new setting - currently we have 3 scenarios - (pre-match,in-play,suspended)
I think it would be great if they added 'Half-Time'
The delay could be completely removed, we could see on the BA screen that it's currently Half-Time, and then return to 'In Play' when the 2nd Half kicks off

tnx groovy
Interesting to see how many people 'released' this post on their own sites as an official Betfair announcement.
For those that did, you need to know I modified the original release and if you did actually get it from Betfair, which would have only happened if you had an account manager, you would have spotted the subtle difference. Maybe you can credit me as the source next time, rather than pretend to have been received it yourself!

Actually, there are already 4 market status settings:LeTiss 4pm wrote:I just like to add, that keeping the delay during half-time, especially when it's a high profile match, or on TV is just ridiculous

INACTIVE - pre-off with football
OPEN - In-play
SUSPENDED - something has just happened
CLOSED - everyone's gone home
You wouldn't need half-time, you could just go back to inactive instead.
