Not sure about what I'm seeing on TV.

It's seems to be a bunch of spoilt kids doing something very expensive that normal people have no idea about (the 'normal' people I chat to anyway). All put together by a corrupt regime where more money than all the other Winter Olympics put together has been spent on things that don't work.

But that's my opinion. Am happy to have it changed.

Yes agreed.

When Eddie the Eagle did the ski jumping he was treated like a clown and the late great John Candy was in a good film about a Bobsleigh once.

Olympic Committee were not amused by Eddie or Cool runnins and I think qualification has been tightened up since Calgary

It appears a Tongan has changed his name to a German brand of underwear to enable his particpation in the Luge.

Snowboarding is great. I really recommend it. Although, be warned, it can be very painful when you are learning. If you catch the wrong edge on skis it will tend to either jerk your downhill ski inward or your uphill ski outward and a relative beginner with good balance will be able to make an easy correction. On a board however, you are fixed at the hips and feet and when you catch an edge you are literally catapulted to the ground - sore wrists and knees or sore coxis and elbows.
That said, once you get it, it is so exhilarating.
Give it a go.
