Essentially, betfair using one ripped off customer group (traders on the exchange) to help rip off another one (mug punters on sportsbook).

Hammersmith are betting (groan  ) that better odds on sportsbook will help them compete with Will Hill and Ladrbokes and other scum

Doubt it.

There's a finite number of mugs out there.

Anyway, betfair should be cultivating liquidity through an exchange not a one side only book

I wonder if this can be abused....

The fact they don't even have software that checks if their sports book prices are inline with the exchange prices, I really can't see this working well.

I think I read that peter mentioned somewhere on another post that there would be some changes on matching on football in the near future. If that's the case, maybe he could shed some light as to what is expected? I could be wrong as I'm not sure where I read it but I imagine its related?

I personally see it as benefitting trading but can't understand why they would offer it as surely its a hit on their sportsbook margins?
