As I mentioned in my earlier post I was going to use a Back to Lay strategy on Terrific 14:15 Chester. I backed at 3.5 and was pleasantly surprised to see her touch 3.0 pre race. I actually placed a closing order at 3.05 just in case I could get a decent profit pre race. Well I placed a closing order and there was about £2K traded and only £200 in front of me. I watched the amount traded rise to £34.5K and I still wasn't matched!!

Queue jumping
Hi JG
I asked Ian Chuter, Betfair's operations director, via Twitter if certain accounts are ever allowed to jump the queue.
His response: categorically not true
Not saying you're wrong, btw - just thought you might be interested.
I think it would be good if someone could record an instance of this kind of thing happening, so we could present Betfair with compelling evidence when they deny any wrongdoing.

I doubt BF would openly admit if they were allowing fraud to go on within their exchanges, whether its them or their market makers. All that happens if you do pass to them quite clear instances of strange behaviour they just say they will pass it on to their Fraud Team.Ferru123 wrote:Hi JG

Supposedly it happens in real time, as your sportsbook bet will get matched with the exchange if the odds are higher.burdo77 wrote:When does the price rush bet occur, 1min before the off or close to the start time? I'm just thinking you could possibly develop some strategies to target the price rush if it's predictable...
That doesn't make sense, that would mean that if i bet with the sportsbook i would always get the top price on the exchange with no commission....Supposedly it happens in real time, as your sportsbook bet will get matched with the exchange if the odds are higher.

I'm sure they modify the exchange price used in the price rush. If you back a selection @ 10 and it's available at the exchange @ 11 you might get 10.5 which in effect would be the same as with 5% com...burdo77 wrote:That doesn't make sense, that would mean that if i bet with the sportsbook i would always get the top price on the exchange with no commission....
Hi JG,
We've been contacted by Betfair who would like more information regarding your bet that you feel was pushed to the back of the queue.
From Betfair:
We believe the customer is mistaken, but would still like to understand the problem. If the forum poster could provide us with the Bet ID of the bet he failed to get matched, we can review.
It’s worth noting as well that the exchange matches bets in Bet ID order. We match incoming bets against the unmatched bets with the lowest Bet ID (ie. the ones that were placed first). That is true whether they are matched conventionally, cross matched or even via Price Rush.
Please send your bet details to support so we can forward them or send directly to Betfair BDP and they will look into this for you.
We look forward to hearing what happened with your bet.
