Is it a coincidence that 2 out 3 nationals that suffered most the 2002 world cup scandals won the 2006 and the 2010 world cup? Well, it's hard to believe that FIFA masterminded a pay back to those nationals who had some referee decision against out ordinary but, there is one national that still waiting a reward a national like Spain and Italy which let the investigations go and dropped the case. Just in case that conspiracy theorys of true and for what they show in the last european cup, I would without doubt back a tenner on Portugal to win the world cup. The current odds are on 30/1.

There were allegations about some money transfered of some referees accounts. The transfer was made from a south korea bank. The investigators could only manage to prove one transfer, the other transfers were never proved o put to bed as the scandal could severaly damage the FIFA reputation. Believe o not, I remember the investigations back then quite clearly, the news did not make much of the headlights but, it did happened for real..CaerMyrddin wrote:Probably not

Amazing drift on the friendly match today, from 1.63 to 2.04.
Well, can't see it happen although playing in Brazil should present itself as an advantage, one would think.
Didn't anything about that scandal, but I remember another scandal. Portuguese players back then refused to use the training camp and demanded to train on the gym because... it was very hot outside!
Also remember Spain and Italy being severely prejudiced, but not Portugal. Anyway, Portugal has great players, but not a very good team, imho, but my opinion is probably biased.
