"Within 48 hours he had quit his job and was halfway across the globe – even though he had to get his dad to pay for the ticket because his winner’s cheque had not cleared at the bank."

"And in the ten weeks since the lottery cash hit his account he has been living every young man’s fantasy."

"Instead of a rented flat and 12-hour factory shifts he is staying in luxury hotels, quaffing vintage champagne, driving supercars and enjoying plenty of female attention."

“Within days of my EuroMillions win being made public I was getting tweets and Facebook messages from women of all ages across the world.

“I’ve met some gorgeous girls on my travels so far and I have fun.

Great stuff. Sounds like another Zenyatta in the making :D

Women are intoxicated by a successful man

If Peter Webb wasn't a family man.......he'd be shagging every woman in Hook and Basingstoke

Yup, 1 million isn't really enough to be self-sustaining. He's in serious danger of blowing the lot if he doesn't throttle back on the spending. I estimate he may already have blown 100K.

I myself blew 34K in 3 months living the high life in '12.

easy come easy go. Saying that 1 million is not enough for him sounds like we are all multimillionaires here showing a bit of compassion for the poor lottery winner

That is a great quote from George Best.

I can also tell you for a fact that I could live the rest of my life quite comfortably on £1m and the interest thereon.

I could amuse myself all day with George Best quotes

"If I had to choose between dribbling past 5 players and scoring from 40 yards at Anfield or shagging Miss World, it'd be a hard choice. Thankfully, I've done both."

"They say I slept with seven Miss Worlds. I didn't, it was only four. I didn't turn up for the other three"

I use to play badmington on the next court to Miss World, Natalie Glebova. Closest I got before a snapped acl put stop to anything more!

Of course it is! Even with 600k you could live the rest of your life quite comfortably.

E.g. buy one house to live in rent free - 200k
Buy two more for 200k each and rent them out at say 6% yield. Gives 24k a year while you're living rent free. Pretty much guaranteed for the rest of your life with minimal risk.

Ok, with perfect money management, 1 million is indeed enough to live at a fair (base) level for the rest of your life. But there would be no room for mistakes or profligate spending.

For true 'big baller' status with a nice safety margin, I'd say that 10 million would be the ideal egg nest.

When I won a first dividend on Littlewoods I invested the money. Boring, but it paid off much later.
