Wondering if betfair trading is like the financial markets in that high frequency trading is the domain of algos or are there still discretionary click traders on betfair making very good returns?

There are, but I get the impression there are fewer than there used to be. I'm still mainly manually.

Do you think there will always be a place at the table for the manual trader?
Or do you think their days are numbered?

Sport is very different from financial markets, so until people can get computers to watch pictures then there will always be a place for the manual trader.

Are we talking a few grand profit a day for the best people or is that not really attainable without running algos?

If you consider there's around 30 odd races a day during summer it's only £33 a race , easily achievable for most traders to hit £30 odd a race just depends on your level of skill and consistency as to how often or if you'll hit that K a day.

Interesting and if that can be scaled up to 75 a race it can start to add up.
