Qibtee 12.55 -

Ive been seeing the past few days a bot that appears to quickly put in 10kish on one side and then slop it the other way. Its a bit different to the usual bot that holds its ground and matches against itself to hold a market. Has anyone else noticed it?

It certainly appears different to what Ive seen with slopping bets back and forth in the past. Almost feels like someone doing something in a nervous fashion if that makes sense?

I come to the assumption its the same person that knocks the market about with big stakes, seems rather amateurish at times id agree but they seem to go with the hoards of money that lock-down the book at times... been doing it over a week so surprised nobody has taken a big chunk out of them yet - unless of course their working off the basis they know they are the biggest in the racing markets?

yea have seen it in most markets. Dont fully understand the purpose it doesnt seem to match on either side, but im sure it has a use :). Also surprised the bigger players havent took advantage, maybe they have....

I think its forcing a fill to exit a position possibly, in the weaker markets it tends to have more of an influence.

Seems to pop up when the market is at an indecisive point, possibly flipping the momentum back against the 'crowd' temporarily... going in the opposite of the crowd and all that.

I feel its not the same people that get up to the usual shennanigans, which is why I mentioned it. It feels a little different to usual big chunks of money that go in and casually matched down at a controlled speed but it feels more nervous in having the money in there from the speed of it. I can see them getting caught out by bigger fish soon as they only seem to have the front price and nothing behind to support it, if it got knocked out.

I wasn't trading yesterday but I have the data. What markets did you see it on?

I think it was 12.55 and horse was Qibtee. Nothing appeared to get matched on it to me, which is why it felt different to the usual bot that sticks up a big chunk to sell a position under. Be a nice little opportunity for those willing to take it on I'd imagine if you see it coming.

Agree on the nervousness, reason to believe it's not just a newbie with a few grand initially for me was the fact I've seen it lay at 7.8 for 9k..... Could probably count the amount of traders with that kind of liability in their account on your hands, if not one.

Tonight its been happening a lot but it has felt a little different to yesterday. Not sure what, but something. I guess its the same at this time every year just a new twist to things.

Im sure there is more than one with that kind of liability on hand. There is probably half a dozen alone sat at BA head quarters! I know people that keep a couple hundred thousand in BF so i would expect there are a good few with a lot of money in the accounts for a number of reasons as I dont know to many traders. Some may simply want to line up money days before on big football games at certain odds and therefore need to have a loaded account. At the end of the day, money moves markets!

I've noticed he is not appearing outside the top two generally so I've taken advantage of that today.

If he turns up again in the 17:10 then there is an obvious thing to do.

I'd have had to set my alarm as I was fast asleep by 5.10 UK time! I was doing nicely just getting in 3 ticks away yesterday as he seemed to be clearing out a few positions up or down yesterday. All good fun :D
