I still haven't figured out what 'being ridden along' means...

When a horse is not travelling well and having to be encouraged to keep pace with the other horses in the race. Aka 'Off the bridle' aka 'Under the pump'

It basically means the horse is being encouraged to go faster. Usually the Jockey is pushing and shaking the horse.
Generally as a rule hearing the saying "being ridden along" is not a good sign especially early in a race. However if the horse is 10 lengths clear and its near the end of the race it may just be the jockey wants to make sure the horse wins
