When a horse is not travelling well and having to be encouraged to keep pace with the other horses in the race. Aka 'Off the bridle' aka 'Under the pump'mjmorris335 wrote:I still haven't figured out what 'being ridden along' means...

It basically means the horse is being encouraged to go faster. Usually the Jockey is pushing and shaking the horse.mjmorris335 wrote:I still haven't figured out what 'being ridden along' means...

Generally as a rule hearing the saying "being ridden along" is not a good sign especially early in a race. However if the horse is 10 lengths clear and its near the end of the race it may just be the jockey wants to make sure the horse wins
