Why does it matter? Whenever there's any kind of death, the media is full of ghoolish details nobody needs to know. Someone died, that's it, everything else is the family's business. The details are neither news or entertainment.Dublin_Flyer wrote:Saw a similar rumour a few days agoSeaHorseRacing wrote:I am leaning towards maybe he was secretly HIV positive...

I'll tell you why it matters:ShaunWhite wrote:Why does it matter? Whenever there's any kind of death, the media is full of ghoolish details nobody needs to know. As a man that visited PUBLIC TOILETS seeking casual encounters with other homosexual men, the fact that he hadn't had an HIV test due to being afraid of the result, given that a former partner of his died of AIDS, means that in fact, he was reckless and quite possibly infected many others with a deadly virus.
Whilst not entertaining, this IS indeed news and something that many homosexual men are known to do when having unprotected sodomy. An estimated 1-in-7 sexually active homosexual men in London are now HIV-positive and it's costing all of us who fund the NHS literally millions of pounds annually (and rising) for the anti-retriviral drugs.
If GM is proven to have died of AIDS, I hope it's a wake-up call for the Government to realise just how essential it is that we promote condom use in the homosexual 'community' again.
It's a criminal offence to risk passing on a deadly virus to casual strangers knowing one's own HIV+ status. The excuse of not having been checked is utterly irresponsible and reckless and a huge problem with the rise of male-only saunas and casual dating apps.
OK, rant over. But please don't trivialise something that's blighting the lives of millions on a daily basis.

Of course he had HIV. I will be very very surprised if he didn't.
Look back at the 80s him and Freddie Mercury were always seen partying together. His partner died in 1990 from Aids.
Anyway. Rest in peace George.

No they normally die of something like pneumonia, as GM almost did in 2011. With full-blown AIDS, the body can't fight off the infection.steven1976 wrote:Not sure you just drop dead over night at home with HIV. Put me down for an OD on ice
...And for the record, I believe GM to have been one of the very best musical talents that Britain has ever produced. His vocal ability and songwriting creativity was amazing.

Snap. Take away Elvis and Freddie M. George and Bowie were the last. Hugely talented and a very sad year.Crazyskier wrote:No they normally die of something like pneumonia, as GM almost did in 2011.
