OMG. That's exactly the problem. "Send some over the edge" ????? If you're gambling on something with variables (Horse, rider, rabbits running across the course) then you should expect that things like do happen, and accept it. None of us like to lose money, but it's the hate that erupts from some people that bothers me. If a 1000 people moan on twitter, then there will probably be one or two people who go further, find the jockey and send threatening emails. That sort of thing affects people.
Of course it is human trait. That's why numerous revenge porn websites were born, people wanting to get ultimate revenge for being rejected. As we've seen with terrorism, a handful of exceptionally angry individuals will always get themselves noticed ahead of the silent majorityEuler wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2017 9:00 am
It's also a bigger issue I have about how people treat life. There seems to be no sense of personal responsibility for decisions that people make. When I screw up I take it on the chin and move on, but it seems this is a rare thing to do. But as Kahneman pointed out this seems to a typically human trait.
