Absolutely. One reason there's been boom in cottage ebay businesses is that PayPal lies outside of the HMRC juris diction and they're not paying tax either because the HMRC can't see it. HMRC already have the power to look at your UK bank account whenever they see 'good reason'. We've got another income stream that uses PayPal, from day one I've made sure this isn't linked to a bank that falls under UK banking regs. All this excitement about blockchain is a worry too, the last thing I want is for every penny I ever see being fully auditable.
