Absolutely disgusting ride their from Jim Crowley. Text book example of a non trier on Livvys Dream.
Stables horses running below form( no winner in over 30 runners )

Filly held up when she won last time as case here , all previous runs had been with soft in the description.Ground a lot faster here .

Stewards Report

Brighton, 11 Jun 18
Race 1 - 2:00pm
THE PHOENIX ARTS CLUB FILLIES' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5)
Following the race, the representative of David Simcock reported that LATE CHANGE, placed sixth, was unsuited by the Firm, Good to Firm ground, and that the filly would prefer an easier surface. The representative of Charles Hills reported that LIVVYS DREAM (IRE), which started favourite and finished fifth, was unsuited by the Firm, Good to Firm ground, and that the filly would prefer an easier surface.

Definitely not a non trier .. or maybe My Crowley was still suffering from his attack by fellow jockey Raul da silva at Goodwood yesterday .
If you get a min. Watch the replay than give me your own opinion.
100% a non trier imo. The horse had plenty of time to get competitive. Crowley pulled him back. Went wide. Gave the horse no chance.
Hit with his right hand waited (delayed) changed hands again another delaying tactic.

I would agree to the point that the horse may have not handled the surface or even good enough to win. We’re never know but I am 100% certain the jockey did not ride with intentions to win that.
When he was ridding it in the furlong you could eailsy mistake Crowley as an amateur jockey.

Agreed SHR

He didn't want to win that one bit - questions need to be asked of that ride

What really gets under my skin is the stewards have noted the trainer said he didn’t handle the ground. The horse is very young. What’s the bet this horse goes into to win at least 1/2 race on the firm side.

Only have to do a little bit of research to see horses withdrawn on accounts of the ground for example.

Wins on gd and gd to firm a few times... gets a non runner certificate on good to soft than wins 3 on the bounce on soft. It’s such a pathetic easy excuse.

I just wish the trainer would say... he needs the run, possible the ground wasn’t in his favour... been training poorly at home... what is wrong with that?

Unless the horse has a medical condition they won’t say it. What people seem to forget is the ground only hinders a horse. A class horse in the race still wins. Very very few horses are specialist ground dependant.

Take here comes when, he’s a fair group 1 horse on soft but still competitve on any ground in a group 2/3.

I had a look today and i do beleive that horse was unfavoured by the surface but I still beleive he could have won.

Racing needs a trial race system. Greyhounds have it.

In today’s instance, the horse must prove itself in a trial race without pricemoney.
Allowing any hors to run in trial races too.

Additionally this would stop horses like Altior turning up in 3 runner condition stakes at the beginning of each season. This would stop the horse needs a run, not sure he handle the ground etc etc. Make a rule that the trials are exemp from betting markets and prize money.

If you watch the leicester race she won (ridden by same jockey). she was held up.challenged wide.and was given a very similar ride.as regards use of the whip, positioning etc.
In the race you mention, she's running of a higher mark,on faster ground, and on a track markedly different to Leicester. Not a lot of difference in both rides (held up .came wide etc, little use of whip etc). One the filly won.the other she didnt.

You could get 20 people to read a race ,and get 20 different opinions.thats one of the great joys of the sport

Can often dwell or start slowly,a trait which was marked earler in his career, seemed to have been largely eradicated, but came back on his last run at Brighton.

Brighton has a camber which favours inside horses, Leicester is as flat as anything, there really isn't any comparison

I think the BHA should suspend Crowley for a few weeks. Go and take a holiday mate. Your clearly out of your depth at the moment. Feel sorry for those who backed him in that race at Salisbury 2.30. Another shocker.

Which is what I said “ a markedly different track” .. the inference being the undulations and nature of the track at Brighton might not have suited the filly

Maybe his altercation with Raul Da Silva, think he suffered facial injuries, is preying on his mind. Not one of my favourite jockeys tho.

Why did you say she went wide at Leicester then and so it should've suited as well at Brighton?

With a camber like Brighton not only would she have been unbalanced but also covered a lot more ground
