I was wondering if anyone could point me towards a blog or vid url where Pete discusses the iniquity of Spoofing (given that, I believe, it is illegal on the Stock Markets). I've had a good look around and can find nothing of substance on the practice. I was thinking that something on how to recognise and, in particular, not to be drawn into the dastardly intentions of such scurrilous blackguards might prove useful.
Begging the absolution of Trader Pat and Naffman if I have come over as somewhat ill-informed if not downright ignorant . I is just trying to learn!!
Cheers
Not sure about a video or blog offhand (I'm sure Peter can confirm if he's done a detailed one) but there is the following which touches on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8r-I6go3DM
To accuse anyone of spoofing in any given instance is to appoint yourself as the thought police, which seems to be all the rage nowadays. Only the bettor really knows his/her intentions when placing the bet.
In any case, the money is sitting there for anyone to take should they so wish. If you're so darned confident it's a spoof, why don't you take the whole lot? Actually, I think you see that very thing happen now and again. It's quite fun to see, and can also present opportunities for the quick-witted.
Weemac,
I beg your forviveness. I understood Spoofing to be an undesireable practice hardly worthy of the consideration of the Thought Police, whomsoever they might be beyond the thinking of an agitated SF fan (not yourself, of course!).
Given ,then, that Spoofing obviously occurs... ref Google and Spoofing..(but referred to earlier in Dallas' post, albeit neithe of which were headed as Spoofing, making their access obscure ), all that I am looking for are a few cautionary notes on the this practice.
It may be immoral depending on your personal compass but it's currently a valid part of the meta game, they're taking on risk with those orders and it's up to the other market participants to adapt.

With regards
What's to forgive? I'm ambivalent on the desirability or otherwise of the practice.
People will do what they want in a betting market. Caveat emptor.
I wouldn't mind seeing the video if anyone can post a link. I feel for fat finger victims even though I find it amusing but there's very little sympathy around for spoofers who get stung.
I can’t remember who reposted the video link in January. Might have been Dallas.
They were trying to Boss the market with about 3k either side of a selections odds in a fairly flat market. I am sure Peter lost a few ££ pounds while playing the spoofer but then nailed him for allot more ££££.
To Weemac: I am a newbie as is clearly seen and so have no intention of taking on spoofers. This is strongly advised as only appropriate for experienced and advanced Traders. As for quick-witted..ah well! I am praying to the Ultimate (whilst being practical, and keepin a weather eye on emerging Neutropics, my being 69...but HOPEFULL and even more so DETERMINED and DOGGED). Also, BTW, hoping that Jesus has no hard feelings against me.
As to "whats to forgive?". Well now, your perception that I had appointed myself a member of the Thought Police. LOL. Among my hobbies is the practice of exposing the mental machinations of Thought Police for the garbage that it is. I needed forgiveness for triggering that unfortunate thought in you head. Forgiven??
...and "only the bettor understands her/his motives in these cases". Really? Big money coming in on a horse, sometimes at long odds, and pulled as soon as a danger of it coming under matching threat arises. Maybe there is some brilliant and obscure motivation here but this poor mind can only see SPOOF.
To eightbo:
Despite my rather flowery decription of Spoofers as low-lifes I do not put myself on the moral highground! Far from it. I have spent the greater part of my life dodging and scrabbling around in the foothills of Morality. I am merely looking for some expert thought on how to recognise the phenomenon so that I can, as a newbie, avoid it!
To BetScalper: A link would much appreciated
