Free bets
Just something to be aware of - the odds you get offered by the bookmaker aren't always the odds that you'll get paid out on. As a result, what appears to be a free bet might not be.
Firstly, because of Rule 4 deductions, when another horse is withdrawn from the race. There will also be a deduction across the board on Betfair, but it might not be the same as that applied by the bookie.
And secondly, bookies can decide after you placed a bet that they made a mistake, and priced the horse too high. This is known as a palp. So if you see a horse that's 2/1 with a bookie, but 2.3 to lay on Betfair, personally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!
