Is it just me, or are Chelsea's odds of beating Bolton a little low at 1.33?
The Chelsea of the beginning of the season would have destroyed Bolton nine times out of ten.
But there is clearly discontent in the Chelsea ranks. And Chelsea are only 2 points in front of Bolton in the table (albeit with a game in hand). Also, Chelsea's players won't be fully rested after Monday's game.
What do you guys think?
Jeff
Chelsea vs Bolton
Hi Jeff
It does seem a little low..I would trade this in a similar way that I traded the Chelsea Arsenal game last night...
I traded the draw pre kick off, 500 scalp which gave me 25 on the draw..I spread that money around and ended up 10 each on Chelsea and Arsenal and a 1 on the draw ( I didn't think this game would result in a draw).
When arsenal scored the first I scalped Chelsea using the tenner i made earlier and did the same again when arsenal scored the second and third. At that point was some like Arsenal £0, Draw:-£9 and Chelsea :£2,300 when Chelsea scored the odds dropped and I took about £40 out for a green across the card.
What I was hoping for was a second goal from Chelsea, I would have been to green up for three figs easily...great upside and almost zero downside...It doesnt always work but spectacular when it does..
If i get chance to trade the Bolton game I expect Chelsea will score first and probably win..but I'll still trade Bolton after the first goal..
Worth trying using even tiny 2 stakes??
Regards
Peter

Thanks Peter
I don't normally trade football matches pre-match, but it's something I'd like to be able to do.
With your scalp, did take advantage of a price movement, or offer prices either side of the book?

I think many traders miss out hereFerru123 wrote:

Pre-match football has some amazing swings, but are easier to predict than the volatile horse races
You need patience though Jeff because sometimes I've waited an hour to secure a 1 tick scalp
Thanks Le Tiss
How soon before the off do you normally start trading?

Would you normally just place your orders with a stop loss, and let the market do its thing, or do you keep a constant eye on what's happening?
With a flat market like the Man U win market today, would you put orders on either side of the book, or do you only trade non-ranging markets?

I've been trading since 9am on today's matches & have already caught a few movements
I tend to place a number of large orders in, out of the money in advance, and then wait till the market moves to me (let the market be your slave not your master, as some would say..)
Only thing you need to be aware of Jeff (amongst other things), is changes to the team sheet. Quite often happens with Man U, if Fergie announces that he is keeping some of his better players on the bench, then the odds on Man u will increase, if you are using largish stakes, you could do nicely out of it ..but if you are on the wrong side of it..
