I have to admire how bold Luke is, literally blowing up the Forum with his eagerness. I wish I would of had the balls to ask questions early on, just maybe not with the same velocity. Being scared of looking stupid is a real set back for some, maybe lack of confidence or bad grammar (such as myself)

I really do think Luke would do well now to listen to the advice that's been given, not from myself but from others including yourself. I saw a great post by Simon yesterday (the study done by Harvard) I've not yet digested it, so I'm sure Luke hasn't either, especially with 400 threads active.
I do hope we haven't put him off asking future questions, while at the same time I hope he dwells in the present a little.
Luke, I feel people may stop responding to you very soon... I've literally just come back out from reading a reply to yourself from Shaun. He broke each and every segment of your comment down and responded accordingly, to which your reply was something completely off topic. I mentioned earlier that you need to slow down and absorb what is being said. Please take notice, not just of me.. but the actual advice given from others. You're quickly burning yourself & others out of energy. These guys value time, so their responses must be worth while.JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:47 pmHi,jamesg46 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:38 pmI have to admire how bold Luke is, literally blowing up the Forum with his eagerness. I'll be honest I didn't read that article but I have read about a third of Caan Berrys book and a webinar which both helped.
For me it's steep learning curve. It is a very different mindset that gambling that takes time to adjust.
Just to add to the whole mix of confusion some more, you'll do well to chuck that book in the bin or donate it to somebody who cant read, so that no harm gets done. Buy a book on Thoaism & learn to calm down a little, it will give you a good foundation to build your own thoughts upon.JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:47 pmHi,jamesg46 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:38 pmI have to admire how bold Luke is, literally blowing up the Forum with his eagerness. Don't think he needs more advice, just needs time to let some of it sink in. If we're being perfectly honest these are the questions of someone who has discovered trading yesterday, and people don't have a problem with that, but treating the forum like your own personal helpdesk and demanding answers whilst calling it useless at the same time is completely out of order.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:38 pmI really do think Luke would do well now to listen to the advice that's been given, not from myself but from others including yourself. I buy a book, someone tells me I show throw it in the bin without explaining why.Kai wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 8:15 pmDon't think he needs more advice, just needs time to let some of it sink in. Sorry, but there's nothing there to admire for me. Even if the threads turn into a complete circus I still think there's some value for others, a good example of a bad approach if you will, or something along those lines. People aren't going to encourage such behavior, what are they honestly supposed to say to him?
"Wowza, you're a natural born trader Luke! You haven't even started trading and you're already profitable, don't let silly little things like not knowing what lay bets are or not having a Betfair account hold you down! If you keep at it then maybe one day you'll accumulate enough profit to afford a pint."
It's beyond ridiculous. People should warn him about the dangers of trading and correct any and every flaw in his trading approach. It may seem like there are 100 flaws but that's only because he is ignoring everyone, including Peter, so things get repeated 10 times.
in all fairness, i get what you're saying and you probably are doing your best (that's the nice bitJustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 8:18 pmI buy a book, someone tells me I show throw it in the bin without explaining why.
That was not a silly comment and there was no emoji in it!!JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 6:04 pmLook. Just please stop replying with silly comments and emoji's. On Smarkets I back all the scores but none of them have any lays. So are Smarkets but there are absolutely no Lay bets. I couldn't trade out if I wanted to. Are they just trading all the Backs against one another?
Derek, please stop. You are either leaving silly comments or trying to argue. By almeans reply but leave something constructive or useful.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 8:39 pmThat was not a silly comment and there was no emoji in it!!JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 6:04 pmLook. It was a genuine piece of advice and it's not fair on the OP to take over his thread with your own requests for advice.
That was both, constructive and useful, it was neither a silly comment nor an attempt to argue, if you really think about it. You seem to be judging posts by the person who wrote them rather than the content. The OP has just posted:-JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 8:41 pmDerek, please stop. and his post seems completely lost in the midst of your posts, in a thread which you've now taken over. Stop thinking about your self and what you want and think about other forum users.
