Sorry, it's just a term I made up, not an official Betfair term, to refer to the 24 NSW markets you can trade per week without being subjected to the turnover charge. There are no similar restrictions in the UK or anywhere else. It's just Betfair's way of raising funds to pay the extortionate NSW turnover tax.
Thx .. just been looking for the Cup meetings.
Be interesting to see if I get a charge.

I make it up as I go really. A bit of whatever is presented. The 40% rate of PC soon to really make things even more dreary.rik wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 2:38 pmmarket making in running or betting laying according to how you see the race develop?Aarondewit wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 6:30 amI'm finding it harder and harder to make money in-play over the past few months.
The markets are very static. Quite often a leader will jump at $5 and for no reason be stuck at $6 for most of the race and within a second or two be trading < $2. The market used to cycle a lot more, now it's more static outside Saturday.
Strange as you'd have thought in-play liquidity would've improved with all these trading courses in Oz they seem to be doing.Aarondewit wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 6:24 amI make it up as I go really. I back in-running in Qld, Tas and WA as I've noticed there's so many people ahead especially in Melbourne.
https://www.racing.com/news/2019-10-31/ ... ring-fallsCox Plate Day wagering turnover was down 12% year-on-year, continuing a trend of softer figures throughout the Spring Carnival....
Betfair has been one of the hardest hit outlets, as outlined by its Exchange Director Robert Linsley.
“The Cox Plate meeting slipped 21 per cent year-on-year; excluding the Cox Plate we saw turnover decline of 27 per cent,” said Linsley.
“The Manikato meeting saw turnover decline of 30 per cent year-on-year.
“The Winx effect can be attributed to some of the softness but the decline is still consistent with recent post- Point Of Consumption (POC) Tax trends.”
