Hello, apologies in advance - I'm very new.
I'm struggling with the simple task of placing a lay bet on the selection I've backed (any selection) - after the back bet has been placed.
I don't want to green up - just place the opposing lay bet (at a different time).
Here's the process I'm following
1. Place the back bet on any selection if "this happens" - success!
2. Place an equal amount lay bet on the selection triggered in rule 1 (fail)
cheers,
Steve

Can you post your log?
If it triggered then it will have closed if a back bet was matched beforehand (assuming it's applied to the same selection as you back bet rule)
If it never triggered then it's likely the markets were not being refreshed fast enough for the amount of time you had the rule armed for

rule 1 back 3min out to 40secs (event start) on any selection at best price (once conditions met)
rule 2 close trade on any selection 30sec to 0.00 (event start)
both rules triggered - at the correct times - just no lay bet was placed

OK so it looks hasn't triggered on the selection that had a back bet placed on it
When applying to ANY selection (as opposed to using Betfair row 1, 2 or etc for both rules) you'll need to add a condition so it triggers on the same one.
So on your close trade rule add a 'Number of place bet triggers condition' on selection is greater than 0
That will tell it to trigger on the selection thats had a back bet trigger.
Finally if you have more than 30 markets in guardian and your still using the default 1 second guardian refresh rate this may mean your market isn't been refreshed.
Increase the refresh rate on the main guardian banner to 200ms and then try it again along with the condition above.
