Joke all you want but FYI on a Yank forum this would be considered racism. You have no idea how many people get called crackers in the United States of Murica, just saying.
I imagine calling them Yank's wouldn't go down too well either

As an aside I was talking to a friend in the US yesterday, the cost of a C19 test in their area is iro $3,000. I can't see many blue collar workers wanting to go into debt to find out if they've got it. Such blatent profiteering is shocking but not suprising.
I had heard a similar figure. Quite amazing and I am not sure what you as an individual get from knowing if you have it or not. I can see from a public perspective the advantage of knowing but what on an individual level do you do different if say you have it or normal flu?

I first heard that expression when watching the 70's series of Shaft, towards a white person.

The Director General of the World Health Organization has called the coronavirus outbreak a "pandemic".

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has repeatedly stopped short of labeling the outbreak a global pandemic because he said it would "spark fear". But in a significant development he said the outbreak can now be "characterised as a pandemic" at an ongoing press conference in Geneva.

He said the decision came as the UN agency was alarmed at "levels of inaction" around the globe.

I read that there is a UK press conference this evening at 7pm (I think) and that we are likely to see a move to delay phase on Sunday.

Will that differ from the "wash your hands" phase?!

We allowed flights from Italy to continue right up to the point the Italians quarantined the whole country and airlines themselves decided to stop flying.

Hardly a "containment" phase was it?
