They just count commission generated so additional charges aren't included.
I thought the transaction charge might be added to commission but I wouldn't know being a manual trader I've never had to pay it.
It's in 'other charges' I would imagine?

And has anyone actually been charged turnover charge or is it just a threat they don't carry out with?

Yes, I was charged by mistake the first time I incurred it and had to contact them to get it reversed. Rik got stung by it as well - that must have been painful!

I thought 'other charges' might include, well, other charges, but if you hover your mouse over the question mark on the PC page it says: These are charges that show what you would have paid, had you been paying the higher rate for all of your time as a Betfair user.

So I guess higher-rate payers have a fixed amount added to commission as if they have paid it.

:) We're all guessing. Probably best to ping a message to support if it's a concern.

Are you bonkers, engage with Betfair support?

At least guessing won't drive your blood pressure to dangerous levels but I reckon my above post is correct. Perhaps a higher-rate PC payer could let us know?

I know it's de rigueur to slag Betfair off but if I send an email to support at night then 9 times out of 10 I have a reply by mid morning. I wouldn't bother with the online chat support though, they just handle the basics and anything tricky just gets raised as an issue for the proper support dept to deal with, so you might as well go direct.

I thought Betfair scraped their email support, as well as telephone support?

Yes and no. If you use chat support, ask the question, and then say you want them to raise it as a support issue rather than answering now, they reply by email. That email will have some sort of answer and say the issue is closed, but if you reply it re-opens the case number and dialog resumes. From then just keep using the same email address, as long as you're friendly and pleasant (like saying how good they are and blame management for everything) they're sweet as. Basically just self escalate, they're obviously always happy to do that rather than sort problems out themselves as it goes down as a call resolved. It helps knowing how support depts work, there's always a backdoor. ;) If you want to change the topic then go round the chat/raise an issue loop again otherwise they'll have an issue that's always open on their stats which is a bit unfair.
