So would he/bot now cancel the 500 on 2.92 and place lay bet 2.88 or 2.9. Trying to understand this.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:57 pmLook at this muppet / spoofer using £500 on the favourite.

If you take 2.88 back, the 548 is removed and put on the other side at 2.90 meaning the price shoots away from your 2.88 back and leaves you gasping for air.

that may have been useful if you had said what races those selections were in .and also if it was a back or a lay. just putting a list like that is pretty useless

These are selections which I hope will shorten in price before the post time.MemphisFlash wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 12:41 pmthat may have been useful if you had said what races those selections were in .and also if it was a back or a lay. just putting a list like that is pretty useless

Early days on new twist to the original idea but looking good so far using minimum £2 stakes.
Need to remove some of the manual processes (tomorrow) and see about scalability.

Bit late to the party on this one but been trading GH using my own strats. I figured it was about time I learnt to screen scrape as manually grabbing all the data is a real pain each morning. Bit of a learning curve as HTML isn't something I've really worked with and I don't know Python. So been working in Auto-it as I'm more familiar with the syntax and functions.
Going back through the thread I know SB posted up something similar using Python but this is my first result for todays races in Sporting Life. Just need to tweak a little to add the class and distance and then grab each dogs form table and do some crunching to compare average times over distance for x races - if you are now using that data
A quick dive in Excel and should be easy to average best/last and diff between 1st and 2nd dogs
Any use to anybody ?

However, we have noticed some differences in the data between SportingLife, RacingPost, Betfair Racing Cards and TimeForm when it comes to times and form data. There doesn't seem to be an answer has to why. Could be human error or that they maybe modifying the data for some unknown reason.
I did see the posts on that. Was going to move on to other sites after this so wondering there might be some value in averaging across sites to smooth out any differences.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 9:28 amThe more help the better.sniffer66 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 9:02 amBit late to the party on this one but been trading GH using my own strats. Are you still using the last 10 races over same distance averages as an indicator ? All that data sits in a table under each dog on the SL site so should be straightforward to scrape into an array, match and calc

I now get data directly from https://www.gbgb.org.uk/ with some additional forecast data for calculations. It wasn't my idea or work so cant share with the forum. But the original idea is still used. I take the dog in each race with the best time over the last 30 days and cross reference with the forecast betting. Then monitor the market and if a certain amount of money starts coming in for the selection I will BTL it.sniffer66 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 9:39 amI did see the posts on that. This is working very well, however, two things to note:
1. Don't use the selection if it's stepping up in grade. Example: A2 to A1. Reason being the market may think it will struggle and therefore wont get backed in.
2. Be careful if the race contains a runner (not our selection) which has stepped down in grade. Example: A1 to A2. Reason being many of these will get blindly backed into the running against the forecast picks as the market thinks its too good for the others.
That's it.
Ok, thanks. will take a look.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:02 amI now get data directly from https://www.gbgb.org.uk/ with some additional forecast data for calculations. Seems a good argument to BTL the downgraded dog then ?

If and when the market likes the downgraded dog yes. What i do is monitor them from 5m out and if it starts getting large amounts of money then then i will BTL it. I personally wouldn't just BTL on the hope it will shorten as it might genuinely be a load of sh!te etc.sniffer66 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:12 amOk, thanks. will take a look.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:02 amI now get data directly from https://www.gbgb.org.uk/ with some additional forecast data for calculations.
