As we're posting greyhound botting P&Ls for today, I thought I'd add mine, as due in no small part to the very generous help over several years from Peter Le, Dallas, Spreadbetting, Jollygreen and many others, I seem to do OK on very small stakes.
I started with penny- pinching back in 2016, see
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12645&p=107061&hilit=penny#p107061 and after much toil and several wiped banks and false starts, seem to have developed a reasonably profitable system, but still very risk-averse with some very complex conditions and selection. The beauty of the dogs is the sheer volume of races and though I usually get a modest few quid from the horses too, the dogs seem to have become my speciality, stealing amounts of £1.50 before commission on almost every place market when the expected ratio from win to place meet certain criteria. I bot all of the dog races and find if I do my prep correctly (credit Archery for some great innovative ways at looking at dogs markets), then usually all is well.
TLDR; Small, but consistent pennies do make pounds! With enough perseverance and determination to find something that returns more than it loses, consistently, ie an edge, not just variance or luck, which is always fickle, as others have commented small stakes are fine, as you can see on page 1 of my P&L below:
