I really don't mean to be contentious but.... does this apply to the hospital & care home workers as well?
(I'll assume not)
Especially when you've got a top team of doctors and are first in the queue to the very best treatments available.

Covid-19 dominates all our lives, whether we like it or not; whether we let it or not. I can't imagine how somebody who lost their job/business together with partner or other loved ones would feel when they're told not to let it dominate their lives!
The only person it hasn't even affected nevermind dominated is Donald Trump..... until now.

Trump currently 2.64/2.66 on BF and 2.78/2.86 on BD.

I wouldn't fancy chucking a large bet on one exchange, going over to the other and finding the market suspended for 24 hours until they get an update about how DT's feeling. Worse still, getting in a successful trade and finding one exchange is voiding all bets because a key candidate in the market died, whilst the other has no such rules.jameegray1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 1:15 amTrump currently 2.64/2.66 on BF and 2.78/2.86 on BD.

Good point. On Betdaq for example if any candidate gets assassinated then the whole market is void whereas if they die naturally then they are deemed a runner!Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 1:26 amI wouldn't fancy chucking a large bet on one exchange, going over to the other and finding the market suspended for 24 hours until they get an update about how DT's feeling. A classic case in the book 'Betfair for Dummies', an arber was backing golfers to win a tournament and laying them on the exchange. He was a grand up, tournament was abandoned due to rain, bookies and the exchange had different rules as to how many holes must be played for bets to be voided. End result was that mostly losing bets with bookies counted, mostly winning lays with the exchange were voided.jameegray1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 1:35 amGood point. Bolsonaro's popularity surged after he beat the coronavirus, pretty much the same character as Trump

I have become used to the Whitehouse shorthand for the US President as POTUS but now that the president and first lady became infected with Covid we're seeing more references to her in the same shorthand. Everytime now that I see references to Potus and Flotus I can't help thinking first that they might be ruling twins of the Roman Empire I'd previously not heard of.
'FLOTUS' seemed pretty funny to me the first time I saw itJukebox wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 10:23 amI have become used to the Whitehouse shorthand for the US President as POTUS but now that the president and first lady became infected with Covid we're seeing more references to her in the same shorthand. And the fact that FLOTUS & POTUS live in a house with a name that rhymes with toilet.aines88 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 10:59 am'FLOTUS' seemed pretty funny to me the first time I saw itJukebox wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 10:23 amI have become used to the Whitehouse shorthand for the US President as POTUS but now that the president and first lady became infected with Covid we're seeing more references to her in the same shorthand. I reckon you'd be gambling to think that...too much information out there imo...
If you're at a funeral nobody wants to hear that dead larry was a jerk....and I somewhat doubt Trump would have two qualms about telling everyone larry WAS a jerk at said funeral....
I dunno if you want empathy in a leader tho do you? How could they think straight and take millions of peoples emotional foibles in at the same time?
Tact is probably pretty important tho
