Given that you're mentioning them and their action four years later, I'll argue that publicity stunt (which most of these early payouts are imo) paid well off. Not a jab at you; only a reflection that Paddy, all other things aside, are doing pretty well with their stunts.

Even the slightest positive news for Republicans is buried these days - there can't be many who haven't noticed that. But it was ruled in Pennsylvania that those ballots were to be kept seperately to allow for their exclusion if subsequently ruled illegal:
