That meme is a very accurate picture of what I was thinking as soon as I heard two clubs are preparing to withdraw. :)

Even if/when it does collapse, I guess a lot of mistrust has been created and irreparable damage done.

Apparently BoJo telephoned the Top 6 club chairman and said “if you don’t pull out within the next 24 hours then I will send my barber around”

Frankie Boyle on Boris Johnson:
* A malevolent baked Alaska
* The interface of the public school system and foetal alcohol syndrome
* What happens when Pixar is infiltrated by the last surviving Nazi war criminal
* Oswald Moseley’s soul trapped in a Furby
* A cross between an unmade bed and a head injury

Still waiting on Liverpool though... As a fan the only thing that could maybe temporarily appease me now would be a marquee signing of either Mbappe or Haaland :)

I think so too. It felt a bit sort of desperate, a way of ensure creditors are happy with the debt load.

I was interested in Bayern Munich's response earlier.

They admitted the top clubs are in huge debt, but the answer is reduce costs, not try to make more money and then spunk it all on players and agents

I suspect the football bubble has burst. players wages are going to significantly drop across the board

Assuming this does collapse now there's going to be changes in one form or another to stop anything like this happening again.

I haven't looked at the details but it appears the German legislation that fans own 51% of the clubs would be a good way forward

I've had sandwiches that have lasted longer than the ESL.

What a farce.

The clubs involved should get a 1 year ban from all competitions. Tottenham should get 2 for delusions of grandeur.

It's a far better model than the Spanish political circus and the open toxicity between their fans and players.

I actually think Germany has the healthiest football ecosystem, brilliant league but just a shame that Bayern is so powerful they can simply hoard all the best rival players.
