Until I saw it again last night I never realised just how unenthusiastic the commentator was considering what had just happened and the way it finished.
From a neutrals perspective it must of felt like 'meh' moment
Certainly nothing like the Aguero goal a few years ago

Oh no I forgot to watch it

Iirc it was 0-0 at half time and then Alan Smith scored. Not many games have their own wiki page but I've just discovered that one has.

Who was the commentator Brian Moore? Although he was ITV. Motson on BBC with Moore and Tyler being ITV I think iirc

Just gone onto YT and watched brief highlights and it was Brian Moore but OMG

They only needed a draw at home to Bulgaria to qualify for the 94 WC and he gave possession away needlessly and they broke away and scored and France hated him after that. Worth going onto YT to see the comparison
There's no easy solution to the problem but I believe a large dose of common sense needs to be administered. Clearly there was a need for something because people were talking more about referring decisions than games. Players are diving more and the game is faster and fitness levels of refs have not matched it.
But VAR needs to be addressed. You can't even properly cheer most goals anymore and stunning goals are being disallowed because someone was mms offside in some cases but that's down to game laws. For example years ago there has to be daylight between a striker and the defender to be offside. But a lot of clubs started exploiting that and game dynamics altered. Then just when you need informed decisions like when you get a handball in the box then you still have the same flaws... Namely officials who gave never played football.
VAR like any other technology needs to be assisted by human intelligence and common sense
I've only got it on through the Flashscore radio thingy... I'm sure he just said that there is 4k away fans? I thought only home fans were allowed. My conclusion is I have no idea whats going on
